When your order is approved, you will see a "confirmation webpage" with your User ID and Password and also a complete Invoice and Receipt that you may print. You will also receive an e-mail with this information and complete program access instructions. No. This program will prepare you to pass your CDL written tests and cover the skills test requirements prior to your actual "hands-on" practice in a vehicle. You must obtain and maintain your CDL in your state of residence. You must currently hold a valid regular drivers license in your state of residence. You must pass applicable written tests (based upon the type of commercial vehicles that you will be driving and the types of loads that you will carry. You must provide a DOT medical certificate, pay the statutory fees and you will be issued a CDL permit. The CDL permit will allow you to drive the type of commercial vehicles that you are permitted for - with a CDL holder present in the passenger seat of the vehicle. The vast majority of CDL holders did not go through a truck driving school. Truck driving schools average about $4200.00 and are generally priced between $3000.00 and $8000.00. Most people get their "hands on" experience behind the wheel with a friend, relative or employer who have access to a representative-type vehicle and who hold a valid CDL for that type of vehicle.
